A Timeline of Purposeful Growth

From a single MoU to 780 FPOs across 17 states –- tracing the milestones that shaped FDRVC impact on rural India.

2019

Foundation Established

FDRVC constituted under an MoU between Ministry of Rural Development and Tata Trusts. Initial mandate: support rural livelihood programs at scale.

2020

Farm Producer Enterprises Established

Multiple women-led Large Scale Producer Companies established across UP, MP, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, with real-time commodity procurement through D3C digital collection centres.

2021

10K FPO Partnership and Non-Farm Vertical Begins

Selected as a key Implementing Agency under the Government of India Central Sector Scheme for Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs across Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Telangana. Non-Farm PEs are established in Chhattisgarh and UP - starting FDRVC non-farm portfolio of women-led artisan producer companies. Saras Gallery is opened in December.

2022

Scaling Saras and e-Saras

Saras Gallery is scaled to promote Indian heritage of Handloom & Handicraft and connect buyers with rural artisans, weavers, SHGs & federations. An e-commerce portal e-Saras is established to provide a digital storefront for authentic handcrafted products.

2023-24

Scale-Up: 600 New FPOs under 10k FPO Scheme, 10+ Large Scale PEs Established

FDRVC assigned a target of 600 more FPOs across 15 states, with Odisha (64), Jharkhand (60), Karnataka (60), and Assam (59) among the largest allocations. Large scale FPOs are established, bringing the total Large-Scale PEs to 27.

2025

780 PE's/ FPOs, Rs 300+ Cr Payment to Farmers

FDRVC Producer Enterprises and the 10K FPO portfolio have reached 780 PEs/FPOs across 17 states, mobilizing over 8 lakh members and making payments of more than Rs 300 crore to farmers.

We provide a "seed-to-market" support system. This includes technical training, setting up processing units, branding and packaging assistance, and connecting local products to large-scale buyers and digital platforms.

We provide end-to-end assistance, including legal registration, governance training, business planning, and technical expertise to ensure these companies become self-sustaining and profitable.
